The Truth About The Battery Industry
Battery manufacturers will never want their battery consumer customers to have access to equipment that will effectively restore a lead acid battery’s capacity and extend its useful life because it is contrary to their business model of selling consumers new batteries.
Battery manufacturers also do not want the consumer to have access to the knowledge of an effective process that will quickly identify when a battery is ready to undergo a restorative battery maintenance service and again, add life and return capacity to a battery.
Battery consumers are unaware of how political the battery industry really is and how fervently battery companies will defend their business model against innovative technology that lengthens and strengthens the life and capacity of a lead acid battery. Most battery consumers are unaware of the influence a battery manufacturer has over the consumer market through the industry’s battery charger and battery tester manufacturers.
For instance, if a battery charger or battery tester manufacturer does not receive the approval from a major battery manufacturer their level of success becomes very limited. On the other hand, if a battery manufacturer approves a particular battery charger or tester, they not only approve it, but they incentivize the use of it by awarding warranty extensions to consumers through their dealer networks.
This is allowed because it is plain to them that the product has limitations that will encourage their business model yet maintain a benevolent appearance through their marketing strategy that is designed to effectively entice the market, the distribution networks and the end users to restrict the use of alternatives. Their influential key is to say nothing with a goal and the hope that the innovative products and technology that work, fizzle out and fall by the wayside.
When asked directly why a battery company would not approve and incentivize a technologically advanced battery restoration charger with proven history within the US military, for use on their brand of batteries, the answer was clear and simple, “Because a battery manufacturer is in business to make and sell new batteries. Longer lasting batteries will reduce the number of new battery sales and therefore is contrary to why we are in business.”
Only a few forward thinking companies that venture to implement an innovative product and process to reduce their cost of operations reap the cost saving benefits, but then a funny thing happens. These forward thinking companies refuse to share the source of their cost saving alternative openly out of fear that if implemented by their competition it is likely to strengthen their competitor’s financial position in the same way. This fear based thought process disguised as a business strategy is what stifles innovation and progress for the entire battery consumer market. Additionally, it strengthens the influence and control of the battery manufacturers because the last thing any battery company wants is a proven product to reach the masses of the battery consumer market.
Unlike skeptical American consumers, with 35 years of careful grooming by battery companies, Canada, Mexico, Bangladesh and even Singapore, just to mention a few, have fully embraced and implemented effective battery restorative processes and purchased battery reconditioning equipment that has been proven to work with over twelve years of successful history. The longer the majority of our nation’s lead acid battery consumers continue in their skepticism, encouraged by battery companies, the longer their competition that has already moved away from the controlling influence of battery manufacturers, will maintain their edge and more profitable margins.
Successful operations and more profitable margins are achievable, even in this economy, when a company decides to step out of the box and move away from the status quo of outdated battery maintenance practices, testing tools and conventional charging equipment. The truth is that today’s economy is forcing industry leaders to reduce costs to offset profits lost over the last few years. Industries are now preparing for a slower than expected economic recovery and are more than ever demanding alternatives to the high priced lead acid battery.
However, if battery manufacturers can control the supply of alternatives, like reconditioned batteries and products that effectively produce reconditioned batteries, then these consumer demands will continue to fall on deaf ears.
Another challenge for stabilizing shrinking bottom lines are the rising, “Green Initiatives” that simultaneously, are persuading companies to significantly reduce their own utility usage. Here again the vocal volume of the consumer is turned down by approved and incentivized battery chargers that reduce energy consumption, but do not lengthen battery life. Herein, the utility company loses revenue, but the battery company retains its earnings and the consumer pays for another underperforming battery charger to recharge their new batteries with.
The warranty incentives provided by battery companies are nice on paper, but the responsibility of battery maintenance to keep it within the warranty guidelines falls on the battery consumer’s employees. However, company employees cannot be held accountable for the care of new batteries when the new and approved battery chargers still miss the mark for today’s new standard of modern battery management programs. Get your company out of the box and start making money again by implementing a new modern battery management program.
Yes, we are a small company, but we have helped really big companies, small municipalities and golf courses across the country save millions of dollars by equipping them with what they need to reduce the frequency of new battery purchases.
As you might guess, our business model is focused on helping the battery consumer save money on batteries by making them last longer rather than spending more money on new batteries more frequently.
Therefore, when you ask your battery supplier or anyone "influenced" by a battery company what they think of us, don't be surprised if their response is less than favorable.
On the other hand, if your battery supplier or service provider is on our client list you can be sure they will be on your side with viable alternatives to save you money on batteries now so you will still be around to meet your company's operational needs later.
